The Role…

 

As a SimpliGov Business Analyst, you will work directly with customers to assist their digital transformation journeys. You’ll quickly get trained and certified to become a SimpliGov guru - helping customers efficiently collect business requirements before working with our Solution Consultants to design and configure automated workflows for release. You’ll also have the opportunity to guide their project teams on best practices, teach them how to use the SimpliGov Platform, and mentor their staff as you help them take the first steps digital transformation journey. Lastly, in some cases, you’ll get to be more technical, working with customer IT teams on their project needs around security, integrations, and reporting.

 

Business Analysts are an important member of our delivery team, working alongside Solutions Consultants, Trainers, Project and Customer Success Managers to ensure the needs of our customers are exceeded. It’s a busy role, working on multiple customers and projects at a time with varying project lengths, business cases, and complexity.

 

You don’t need to be a Project Manager to be successful in this role, but you will have a good understanding of project schedules, requirements gathering, and how to prioritize project needs. You’ll also need to be creative, with the ability to understand and dissect existing manual business processes and transform them into automated workflows. Every business process we automate is like creating a unique application, so you’ll get to be a Product Manager, Project Manager, and Business Analyst all in one!

What we are looking for…

 

  • 2+ years hands-on business analysis experience, with preference for candidates that have worked in customer-facing, government project roles.
  • Experience with customer-facing requirements gathering techniques
  • Experience with estimating project scope and timelines, and tracking status against these.
  • Experience designing and executing testing and user acceptance testing scripts.
  • Experience in a customer facing role.
  • Strong work ethic; exhibits a "sense of urgency" relative to resolving critical issues and time-sensitive deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; listening and organizational skills
  • A problem-solver who takes responsibility, demonstrates personal integrity, and can effectively deal with difficult and/or ambiguous situations
  • Highly proficient in collaborating with project stakeholders, end-users, business partners, and Delivery team members to deliver high quality projects. 


Responsibilities include:


  • Become a technical expert on the SimpliGov Automation Platform
  • Lead customers in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Create comprehensive, clear, and accurate business requirements documentation and project schedules
  • Work with the SimpliGov team to propose software solutions which meet those requirements, ensuring they are technically viable and add value to the overall proposal
  • Define customers analytics reports based upon their specifications
  • Conduct regular customer meetings and develop a trusted adviser relationship with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Identifying professional service problems beforehand and propose solutions to resolve
  • Reporting status of professional services projects to the Professional Services lead
  • Ensure successful ongoing operations with knowledge transfer to customers
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of customer’s workflows
  • Assisting in Regression testing before Pre-production and Production releases (major and minor)
  • Report changes to the project scope & potential risks to Project Manager
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned
